Takemusu West Midlands
Aikido West Midlands was founded by Ama Mann and practices Iwama
style of Aikido as taught by O'Sensei at his Ibaraki dojo in the Iwama
prefecture of Japan.
Our principal teacher is Patricia Hendricks sensei 6th Dan (Head of Division 1 California Aikido Association, San Leandro, California, USA). Sensei Hendricks is a renown international teacher and travels to the UK and Europe on a regular basis, she is a direct pupil of Saito Sensei 9th Dan Iwama.
Our training times are 7:30pm every Wednesday and Friday. We encourage our members and friends to join us in training as much as possible, and we would be delighted to meet new students and people from other clubs.
Aikido is a non-violent martial art founded in Japan. It provides excellent physical and mental conditioning, which enable a person under attack to assume control of their situation without contributing to the creation of violence. Aikido is a philosophy with physical expression.
'Life itself is always a trial. In training, you must test and polish yourself in order to face the great challenges of life.'
